I read a post on G-Town where a couple of teachers were using blogs in the classroom they had their high school students answering question that were posted.  They were helping their students to move toward being able to write and post in better ways that they do on IM and myspace.  I think this is a wonderful idea but I think it would need to be monitored closely.
